With our Miami Dolphins traveling this week for their 2025 opener against the Indianapolis Colts I asked the following questions:
What are your predicitons for this coming weekend’s game between our Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts? You can predict the outright winner, the final score, the hero of the game for the Dolphins on either side or both sides of the ball, or any other random thing that you would like to predict that would apply to this game.
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
MiMiami might be too focused on the ladies to tell if the rest of the predictions come true.
Who wins straight up? Miami
Score prediction? 27-21
Offensive and Defensive stars of the game? Achane starts off his ‘contract changing season’ with a bang. Chop Robinson gets to Daniel Jones, twice.
Bold Prediction? Miami’s offensive line plays well.
What else are you watching for that no one seems to be talking about? The talent on the Colt’s cheerleader squad.
Dolfanjoe sees it all coming together for an 11-point opening day win.
28 – 17 Fins. Little guy Hill breaks one for a touchdown early and a couple big gains. Achane used in the first half breaks a screen for a score and a few long runs. Second half its the Washington and Waddle show. Along with Ollie beating up on there defensive backs. Defensive front stops the run and keeps our offense getting back on the field. Game one in the books !
Alpha6 has the run game and the d-line going off in this game.
The run game gets close to 200yds.
The D-line gets to the QB 6 – 8 times.
At least 1 interception, prolly a Safety.
Colts 13, Dolphins 🐬 35
Dolphster has the Phins losing a somewhat close game.
First week games typically show that offenses take a bit of time to catch up to defenses, so I’m thinking an under the Vegas total. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m going to guess Colts 21 Fins 17.
phinette23 has the Phins taking a solid 7-point win from the Colts.
🐬 27-20
O- stars Waddle, Achane and O-line
D-stars Edge rushers I think we will pressure Jones early and often
SlayerNation1 has some predictions and advice!
MIA 24 IND 20
MIA Defense has 5 sacks, Chop/Sieler 2 each
OFF has long drives with more dink/dunk style spreading the ball around.
Over/Under on Bubble Screens 3.5
Game is probably close throughout. It will look like Preseason Game #4. Plenty of penalties.
Prediction: Waller catches first pass and fumbles it because He hasn’t been hit in a long time.
Mike didn’t want joint practice to be Waller’s foray back into tackle football, so Mike decided a real football game that counts is ideal?
Please don’t: Tua, no attempts at a sideline flank throw and gift X a pick six.
Free Advice: the Defensive Backfield and off-ball LBs should all be wearing gloves that match the opponent’s jersey color throughout the season. Anything that helps mitigate the league-leading Defensive Holding and DPI penalties. A cheap tactic, but it can only help.
finfanfromsiam, who is probably on vacation somewhere, predicts the Dolphins will win a low-scoring game.
My prediction: 16-6 Miami. I think the oline will take a bit to get traction. That will lead to some FG instead of TD’s. The D should be ok barring a disaster in the secondary.
SuperG! has Ollie-G having his breakout game.
Week 1 – Ollie G – In Da House… RESTECP!
dedstrk is another that has a defensive struggle going the Phins’ way.
17-6. Defense shows up, offense shaky, 10-6 until a late TD Tua to Hill.
David7777 as Tua and Hill finding their magic together early in the year.
42-13 Tua and Tyreek come out looking like they did in the 4th quarter of the 2022 Ravens Game
The next evening, I asked the following question-
Which current Indianapolis Colts player(s) would you steal for the roster of our Miami Dolphins, and why?
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
TheRoo1 is going to roll with a major area of need for the Phins.
Keep it simple,,,,, The CB room.
sdphinsfan wants to add to the RB room.
I won’t say Warren. He was right there on the board at 13 when we took Grant. Can’t cry about not having a TE when one was gift wrapped for you and you didn’t take it. I’m going to go with DJ Giddens. Similar to Gordon but better runner, and much better receiver out of the backfield. And he’s durable.
Molly Polly II wants to see what this offense might look like with a true stud tight end.
TE Tyler Warren….only prob we need to include TEs in our passing game! Jonnu finally broke ground with that last year!
phinette23 agrees with MP2
That’s an easy one—Tyler Warren.
Miami7 has a trio to bring in.
1) Quentin Nelson
2) Tyler Warren
3) Jonathon Taylor
Louie the lobster is all about the linemen.
Nelson or Latu
dedstrk also wants a big tight end.
I’d go with Warren as stated by others.
SlayerNation1 is also on the wagon.
Totally speculative at this point, but I would take my chances with Warren.
phinette23 is partial to a RB, and of course, any help in the secondary.
Jonathan Taylor of course and anybody in the CB room. Let’s go Phins!
Well, that’s our selection of answers for this evening. The vast majority of us seem to believe that the Dolphins will have their first win of the season tomorrow afternoon. The consensus on a player to steal would be the rookie Penn State tight end. Here’s to hoping that those of us who are predicting a victory are correct. As always, thank you for participating in our PQOTD. Please be sure to join us tomorrow afternoon for the Dolphins/Colts live thread.
