The NFL announced Week 18’s schedule, and the San Francisco 49ers will host the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday at 5 p.m. PT.
The 49ers won’t be happy about playing on a short week. It’s a quick turnaround, and Upton Stout will be in the concussion protocol. Not just that, but Trent Williams sustained a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing after the first snap. The 49ers were able to get away without playing their All-Pro left tackle against the Bears. They won’t be as fortunate against the Seahawks
offensive line.
It’s worth noting that Seattle’s return to the West Coast also means it’s losing hours, but it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison.
The Panthers and Bucs play at 1:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. The Ravens and Steelers were lucky enough to get Sunday night’s primetime slot. That’s right, the 9-7 versus 8-8 teams got the better time slot than the 13-3 vs. 12-4 teams.
The Steelers and Ravens have long been a marquee matchup, but the NFL had a chance to let the two teams who have arguably played the most exciting games in the past two weeks end the regular season with a chance to play the No. 1 seed.
