It is easy to lose a skill position player or two when you have guys like Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins headlining an offense.
However, FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd sees a major diamond in the rough that most outside of Cincinnati are overlooking. He claims that running back Chase Brown is “the best running back in the NFL.”
Lets get this out of the way first. I think Brown is quite good, and he has been on a pretty good year going back to last season. He still needs to do a bit more before
I’m putting him ahead of guys like Jahmyr Gibbs and Saquon Barkley.
He could absolutely be looking at being in that tier in a year or so. Maybe even after this season. He just needs to show he can keep this up relatively consistently.
I mean the Cincinnati Bengals are betting on him. They changed their offense to put Burrow under the center more. That is partially to help keep their quarterback from hopefully getting hit as much as well as keep a more unpredictable offense. But they wouldn’t do this if they did not believe that Brown was a running back who could handle a bigger role.
We will see where he sits at the end of the season.

Quick Hits | Two Cincy Kids In Texas Hold’ Em; Update On Joe Burrow And Shemar Stewart
Adding Shemar Stewart to the rotation of defensive lineman the Bengals are building is a pretty underrated thing. Being able to keep Myles Murphy, Boye Mafe and Cashius Howell fresh on the edge while the offensive line deals with guys like Dexter Lawrence and Jonathan Allen in the middle is pretty sweet.
‘It Eats at Me’ – Bengals Coaches Rue Ja’Marr Chase’s Lack of Involvement in Week 1
Chase has never been a guy to complain after a win. However, Cincinnati shouldn’t make a habit of winning despite not getting Chase involved. He is too much of a difference maker to not be used more.
Bengals hope strong defensive line play from opener continues at Houston
This is what the front office had planned from the get-go go. They said they were going to invest in the defensive line, and they did exactly that. They got early dividends in Week 1, but this is something they need this defensive line to do week in and week out.

NFL QB rankings, Week 2: Caleb Williams, Lamar Jackson and Trevor Lawrence soar into top five
It is absolutely hilarious to look back at how Week 1 was ranked with Drake Maye and Matthew Stafford occupying Tier one without Burrow or Lamar Jackson. While he comes in at No. 7 this week, there are names ahead of Burrow that could easily take a tumble. Namely Trevor Lawrence, who doesn’t get to play the Cleveland Browns every week.
NFL Week 2 picks: Upset and score predictions, matchup breakdowns for every game
Only one expert took Cincinnati on the road this week. It should be interesting to return to. The Houston Texans defense is formidable, but their offense leaves a lot to be desired. Especially, if they are without wide receiver Nico Collins.
NFL Fantasy 2026 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Wide receivers for Week 2
Hopefully you weren’t matched up against anyone with Josh Allen or Jahmyr Gibbs this week. If you were you made need that little extra help to pull off an upset after a high scoring Thursday Night Football game.
