After a very tough two-game losing streak to teams that made conference title games a year ago, the now 5-2 Kansas City Chiefs will return home to Arrowhead Stadium to host the 2-6 New York Jets in Week 9.
A rare noon kickoff will see Kansas City face a struggling Jets squad coming off of three consecutive losses. Head coach Aaron Glenn is firmly on hot seat watch as the NFL coaching carousel gets in motion. Speculation on the Jets is now heavily tied to what they will do with three first-round selections
in next April’s draft.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City opened as a 9.5-point favorite in the game.
Kansas City has now opened as a favorite in seven of their eight contests in 2026. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the Chiefs won 23-20 in a 2023 primetime showdown at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.
The Chiefs are coming off of a heartbreaking 28-24 road loss to the Denver Broncos in which they blew a double digit lead in the fourth quarter. The Jets spent Sunday losing to the Las Vegas Raiders by a 38-33 score despite gaining over 100 more yards from scrimmage on offense.
