It’s basically the worst kept secret in sports and entertainment at this point. WWE has done a little work to tease alternative partners for CM Punk’s impending mixed tag clash with World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins and his Intercontinental titleholding wife Becky Lynch, but the hints they’ve dropped for Punk’s wife AJ Lee to return to WWE for the first time since her 2015 retirement are so unsubtle that if Bayley or Rhea Ripley does end up being Punk’s partner… there will be a lot of unhappy
members of the WWE Universe.
Still, the powers-that-be at WWE still can’t be thrilled with whoever runs WWE Shop’s social media this morning. Over on the platform-formerly-known-as-Twitter, the WWE Shop account responded to a follower’s inquiry about merch for the 3-time Divas champ and bestselling author by outright spoiling the rumored Wrestlepalooza appearance… and possibly one this Friday when SmackDown is in Chicago, as well…
It’s since been deleted. And even though we pretty much knew this was happening — we still assume someone got a stern talking to, if not worse.
