UConn is one 16 schools to have its men’s and women’s teams added to the upcoming season five update of NBA 2K26, which is set to come out this Friday. New collegiate content such as mascots, home courts, jerseys and player cards will be added across MyCareer and MyTeam modes with the update.
The Huskies join 16 other “powerhouse universities” in the update. Each school’s men’s and women’s players will be added in the game, along with notable alumni. For UConn, that list includes Richard Hamilton,
Breanna Stewart and Paige Bueckers amongst others.
Take Two Interactive Software, 2K’s parent company, also noted that they are preparing for “Freshman year” starting in 2027. That could be an allusion to a long-rumored full blown college basketball video game making a return to consoles, or a more fleshed-out college experience in next year’s NBA game.
