Hate Week is here as the Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-2) head to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes (5-2) in a battle for the Floyd of Rosedale at 2:30 p.m. CST on Saturday, Oct. 25.
This Week’s Thoughts:
gopherguy05: We
are going full reverse jinx here. If it worked last week, then let’s make it happen again. In all seriousness, stop the run and the Gophers will have a good chance to win. Suck against the run, and this one could get ugly.
GopherNation: I WANT Minnesota to win. Badly. But I’m not going to get carried away with one win over an overrated Nebraska. Show me two games in a row that the running game is back and how the offense can put the Iowa defense on their heels.
Blake Ruane: See my opponent preview.
GoAUpher: I picked Nebraska last week and that made me feel dirty. Minnesota responded by playing better. Was some of that more about Nebraska failing to take advantage of hitting Darius Taylor at the line of scrimmage almost every time? Sure. Is Iowa likely going to be much better at holding Minnesota’s run game in check defensively? I’d have to think so. Is there a world where I pick Iowa to win? Fuck no.
We all know P.J. Fleck is going to channel his inner Kirk Ferentz and that this game will be ugly. That’s fine. Embrace it and win anyway. I remember how Iowa fans melted down in 2023. I want to see it again.
zipsofakron: The Gophers are back and I’m not afraid. (Note: I am very afraid)
Ustreet: Some of my fellow blogtariat are getting kicked off the masthead
mowe0018: It’s in Iowa City and P.J. is own by Ferentz. Time is a flat circle.
WhiteSpeedReceiver: I don’t want to talk about it or watch it.
