Cash Herrera, a 3-star quarterback in the class of 2026 out of The Bishop’s School in San Diego, California, has decommitted from Indiana, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Herrera ranks in as the 61st highest-rated
quarterback and 1104th highest-rated prospect overall in the class of 2026, per On3’s Rivals Industry Ranking. He originally committed to Iowa in 2024, choosing the Hawkeyes over fellow Big Ten program UCLA. He decommitted this past June and announced his commitment to Indiana shortly after. Now he’s set to visit Boise State, per a report.
He was the lone quarterback in the Hoosiers’ 2026 recruiting class. With Fernando Mendoza projected as a first round pick in next Spring’s NFL Draft, Indiana’s future at the position consists of his younger brother Alberto Mendoza, Tyler Cherry, any potential portal additions and Jameson Purcell, a 3-star in the class of 2027 who remains the Hoosiers’ lone commitment in that class.
Indiana will be fine and Herrera will have an opportunity to compete elsewhere.
