Greetings, BBN!
It was a full week of conference action. We’re down to three teams unbeaten in conference play, two teams unbeaten overall, and four teams still searching for their first league W. Ole Miss
and Texas A&M are still leading the pack, and Auburn’s now joined Kentucky in the 0-3 club.
Texas got on the board with a conference win in the Red River Rivalry, Alabama bested Missouri on the road, Georgia won the Deep South’s Most One-Sided Rivalry, LSU beat South Carolina, Texas A&M rolled Florida, and Tennessee escaped Arkansas after a fierce Hogs rally. In the one and only non-con game, Ole Miss survived a scare from Washington State.
Let’s take a look at the standings heading into Week 8:

Notes:
- Three-way tie up top. And all three of those teams won’t play each other! They could all go 8-0.
- If Georgia wants to get back in the top two, they have a chance. They face Ole Miss next and can hope for an Alabama loss.
- The teams still without a league win are all at home next week except for Mississippi State. Those three are playing at home against ranked foes though.
- Tennessee can climb the standings if they take out Alabama on the road next week. The head-to-head loss to Georgia would still hold them back though.
- Texas A&M is 3-0 right now, but has three straight league road games coming up challenging that record.
- A rare and very exciting slate next week! For the first time this season, none of the teams will be playing nonconference games, and none of them will be on byes. That’s right: all 16 teams are in action against each other in one ultra-loaded SEC Saturday!
