As we get down to just over a month until the 2026 MLB Draft I thought now would be a good time to do a refresh on the Consensus Rankings for this class. As a reminder there are seven different rankings included in this consensus rankings – though now we are expanding from a Top 100 in April to a Top 200. Some of these lists are longer than just a Top 200, while two are shorter. For the longer lists players ranked from 201 on are not included. For the two lists shorter than Top 200’s, anyone not ranked at
the cutoff is just assumed as not getting any points.
The seven lists used are Baseball America, Pipeline, Perfect Game, ESPN/Kiley McDaniel (155 ranked prospects), The Athletic/Keith Law (100 ranked prospects), Overslot/Mock Draft Simulator, as well as my own. The player ranked No. 1 on a list gets 200 points towards the consensus total, while the player ranked No. 200 receives one point. In total there were 290 players who received at least one point. Most of these rankings have been updated recently, with six of the seven having been changed in the past two weeks. Only the Perfect Game rankings are on the older side, with their list last being updated in late-April.
Note that these rankings are a composite of all sources, and outside of my own rankings being one part of the seven rankings included, this is not something I have influenced at all. For players who are tied in points for a spot, I am giving the higher ranking to the player who ranks higher on the greater number of lists, with the second tie breaker being awarded for the highest ranking on any list, followed by number of lists a player is included on. I will include some comments below on some of the interesting things included in the composite, and break this down into tiers solely based on how highly rated these players were.
While there are more than enough names ranked to go past the Top 200, I felt doing so would paint an inaccurate picture as two sources don’t even rank to 200 and a third cuts off at 200. This consensus rankings will continue to update as we approach the draft, depending on when the individual sets of rankings update, and further expansion on the number covered could also increase if there is more data to work with as well.
One addition from last time is at the bottom you can find the players who moved the most, both up and down, as well as track the players new to the Top 100 and players who have fallen out of the initial Top 100.
Tier 1
1. Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA – 1399 points (previously 1)
Roch slipped in the slightest bit possible, falling from a unanimous No. 1 pick to only getting 1399 out of a possible 1400 points – thanks to Perfect Game having him as the second best prospect in the draft.
2. Grady Emerson, SS, Texas HS – 1389 (prev 2)
3. Vahn Lackey, C, Georgia Tech – 1389 (prev 3)
Lackey tied Emerson in points for second, but Emerson was ranked higher on five lists and won the tiebreaker. It is worth noting that Overslot’s rankings had Lackey as the top prospect in this class, while Law only had Emerson as the fifth ranked player. Emerson was ranked second in five of the seven sets of rankings, and third in another, while Lackey finished third in five, with another second place spot.
4. Jackson Flora, RHP, UC Santa Barbara – 1377 (prev 4)
5. Eric Booth Jr., OF, Mississippi HS -1361 (prev 11)
6. Jacob Lombard, SS, Florida HS -1357 (prev 6)
These guys are pretty generally considered the first tier of the draft, and as you can see they have a pretty solid lead over the next group – though you could say Drew Burress is right on the edge of being included with this tier.
Tier 2
7. Drew Burress, OF, Georgia Tech – 1346 (prev 7)
8. Cam Flukey, RHP, Coastal Carolina – 1325 (prev 9)
9. Ryder Helfrick, C, Arkansas – 1323 (prev 26)
10. Justin Lebron, SS, Alabama – 1321 (prev 5)
11. Chris Hacopian, SS/3B, Texas A&M – 1320 (prev 8)
12. Trent Gridlinger, LHP/OF, California HS – 1307 (prev 23)
13. Tyler Bell, SS, Kentucky – 1306 (prev 16)
14. Derek Curiel, OF, LSU – 1303 (prev 18)
15. Gio Rojas, LHP, Florida HS – 1299 (prev 13)
16. Sawyer Strosnider, OF, TCU – 1295 (prev 12)
17. AJ Gracia, OF, Virginia – 1293 (prev 10)
The second tier of talent cuts off with AJ Gracia at #17, as there is a pretty large gap between him and Liam Peterson in the next spot. Outside of Burress, who is a borderline Tier 1 guy, Gracia is just 32 points behind Cam Flukey at #8. This tier represents the guys likely to be on the board when the Braves are on the clock with their first pick.

This tier is separated by just over 100 points, with Sorrell being a guy who was right on the edge between two tiers. This tier represents some of the names likely to be on the board for the Braves second first round selection.

62. Taj Marchand, SS, South Carolina HS – 936 (prev 77)
63. Jensen Hirschkorn, RHP, California HS – 931 (prev 37)
Hirschhorn is the highest ranked player to not be included on one of the lists, as he is not on the shorter Keith Law Top 100.
This fifth tier of talent represents a group of players likely to be on the board when the Braves are up in the second round with the 48th overall pick.
