The Baltimore Ravens’ 2026 preseason will come to an end tonight against the Washington Commanders. Most of the roster is set, but Baltimore Beatdown’s staff will still have their eyes on a few key position groups during the game. Here’s what to watch:
Even with many starting roles finalized, there’s still a ton to watch out for. The big one is who gets the only starting job up for grabs, the center role, between Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethic Pocic. Beyond that, its depth. Do the Ravens keep three or four
running backs with Adam Randall and Rasheen Ali? Who wins the fifth edge role between Adisa Isaac, Kaimon Rucker, and Ethan Burke? Can a cornerback force them to keep more than six on the roster? On the defensive line, you’ve got John Jenkins, Broderick Washington, Aeneas Peebles, Rayshaun Benny, and CJ Okoye fighting for probably three spots. And lastly, who gets the ninth spot in the offensive line group? Andrew Vorhees, Gerald Lichtenhan, Corey Bullock, and Diego Pounds are the ones fighting there. I don’t expect Carson Vinson to lose his spot to Pounds as the backup swing tackle. – Zach Canter
There are a few position battles worth watching in this game, most notably at center. I am curious to see if Pocic will get the start over Gwyn tonight and whether or not he can show enough to win the starting role. Running back is another position to watch, as both Adam Randall and Rasheen Ali fight to prove they belong on the 53-man roster. No competition is more crowded perhaps than the defensive line, where players such as Aeneas Peebles, Rayshaun Benny, and CJ Okoye will duke it out for the one or two open spots at the position. I am also interested to see if Joe Fagnano can force the Ravens to keep three quarterbacks with another strong preseason game. – Dustin Cox
My eyes will be on the defensive line rotation tonight. The battle between Aeneas Peebles and Broderick Washington has been well documented and to me, Peebles would be the pick for a final roster spot because of his upside as a pass rusher. Washington brings more solidity to the run game but Baltimore already has plenty of capable run stuffers along the defensive line. Obviously, the center competition by default has been cut down to Ethan Pocic and Jovaughn Gwyn. Personally, I think Gwyn will be the starter week one and we’ll gradually see Pocic overtake that role as he continues to get healthy. However, the starters that are rolled out tonight should be an indication of how those final roster spots and rotations are going to be handled. – Stephen Bopst
