The No. 20 Texas Longhorns return to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday to host the No. 9 Vanderbilt Commodores as 2.5-point favorites on Sunday, according to FanDuel.
Texas enters its third
top-25 matchup of the season as winners of three straight after beating then-No. 6 Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl and narrowly pulling out overtime victories over Kentucky in Lexington and Mississippi State in Starkville. At 6-2, the Longhorns need to keep winning to preserve their hopes of competing for a conference title and making the College Football Playoff for a third straight year.
At 7-1 with the only loss of the season coming against No. 4 Alabama, Vanderbilt is off to its best start since 1941 behind star quarterback Diego Pavia, who scored the go-ahead touchdown on a one-yard run with 1:52 remaining to beat then-No. 15 Missouri 17-10 in Nashville on Saturday.
Last year, Texas squeaked past Vanderbilt, 27-24, on the road behind three touchdown passes from quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Commodores lead the all-time series 8-4-1.
The game kicks off at 11 a.m. Central on ABC.
