The Golden State Warriors finish off their preseason schedule with Friday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. The game will be played at 7:00PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC
Sports Bay Area and NBA League Pass.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State picked up its third win of the preseason on Tuesday night, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 118–111. Stephen Curry looked in midseason form, leading the Warriors with 28 points in 27 minutes of action.
Meanwhile, second-round rookie Will Richard put on an impressive performance as well. Head coach Steve Kerr inserted Richard into the starting lineup to give him extended minutes with the starters — and the rookie made the most of the opportunity. He played with poise on offense — consistently making the right reads — and brought energy on defense throughout the night.
Kerr was so impressed that he said he “won’t hesitate” to give Richard playing time once the regular season begins.
What to watch for tonight:
While the Warriors’ on-court results have been promising, the biggest concern heading into the regular season remains player health. Moses Moody has already been ruled out for the rest of the preseason and is doubtful to play in the season opener. Jimmy Butler is also dealing with an ankle injury and will sit out Friday’s game.
Team officials have downplayed the severity of both injuries, but the Warriors should still use this final preseason matchup to explore contingency plans in case either situation lingers longer than expected.
