When Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury in Week 2, the Cincinnati Bengals’ season was all but lost.
Then they signed Joe Flacco, and the offense was powerful once again.
The Bengals quickly saw how much Flacco has left in the tank and how much of an upgrade he is over Jake Browning.
It would be quite the luxury to have Flacco back up Joe Burrow again in 2026, but the 41-year-old QB has made it clear that he wants the chance to start, and he wouldn’t have that in Cincinnati.
Now, Tom Pelissero is reporting
that Flacco would “strongly consider a return to Cincinnati” if he doesn’t get the opportunity to be the guy elsewhere.
There are a handful of teams that could use a bridge veteran QB, such as the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. But if the interest isn’t mutual, there’s a decent chance that Flacco is back as Burrow’s backup.
