Barcelona fans have be told to expect “a bigger one” in the wake of news that a transfer has been agreed for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
The England international is expected in Barcelona shortly for a medical after the Catalan giants agreed a €70 million deal with the Magpies.
Reporter Jose Alvarez has reflected on the transfer and believes there’s much more to come from Barcelona this summer.
“Barça shows its power and economic muscle for a player that Bayern and Liverpool wanted,” he posted
on X.
“We’ve been telling you for some time that Barça would make a big investment this summer, and these 70 million are just the beginning. There’ll be a bigger one. Consider yourselves warned.”
Barcelona reportedly still want a striker as well as Gordon. Julian Alvarez and Joao Pedro continued to be linked with the club and would both potentially cost more than the Newcastle star.
