The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially wrapped up exhibition play with a 28-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills, and will now begin cutting their roster from 90 to 53.
One of the biggest names on the roster bubble is second-year quarterback Will Howard. The Ohio State product finished the preseason with two touchdowns to three interceptions in his first stretch of NFL action. However, he was also sacked three times against the Buffalo Bills, and appeared to be banged up at the end of the first half, which
was confirmed after the game.
Per Mike DeFabo of The Athletic, Howard went to the medical staff and was being evaluated for an injury. The specifics of the injury are unknown.
It remains to be known whether or not the Steelers will keep four quarterbacks, something that is incredibly rare to see. However, if they deem Howard’s injury to be severe, he could end up on IR to start the season.
