**Apologies for the classic am/pm mix-up that occurred when scheduling this —
Good morning, everyone. We’ve just got a short hoddle for you because fitzie has had a long day and been sick (anyone have a good soup rec?).
I’ve been spending the last few weeks updating the “fitzie’s track of the day” playlist on Spotify after not updating it for close to a year and a half. I’m happy to report that I’ve finally made it to December 2024, and I think I’ve got until mid-July 2024 to go.
I think the last Track
of the Day was from July 14, 2024 – Dear Prudence, by the Jerry Garcia Band – so hopefully that adds some certainty to how further back I need to go. But I know I’m just going to have to keep at this til I get back there.
There is one catch with this update though: It’s not going to be in order. There were just far too many songs to add and I didn’t want to have to guess on where the playlist originally ended. It also provides some fun insights on the evolution of the TOTD (which first began with a John Mayer song. Wet Leg was the third artist to be featured). The first Mingus Monday was the ninth TOTD.
The TOTD playlist had more than 500 songs as of July 14, and I’ve added a bunch more since. What I want to know is – will this latest update take it to four digits?
I’ll provide another update and share it again once it’s all done.
