Redshirt senior power forward Braden Huff is 100 percent healthy and ready to make a mark in his final collegiate season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
Huff, who hasn’t competed in a regular-season contest since Jan. 8, was as consistent a post player as could come before his left knee injury. The Glen Ellyn, Illinois native was averaging a team-leading 17.8 points per game on an unbelievable 66.2 percent from the field, which ranked as the sixth-highest in college basketball through his 18 starts back
in 2025-26. He also grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game for the Zags, while continuously showing off his passing pedigree in those high-low actions.
The 6-10 leader of the 2026-27 unit will look to, of course, stay healthy, but more importantly act as the go-to source of offense on top of being a veteran for the young guns. A tough challenge for anyone, but doable for Huff.
Gonzaga now has two athletes named to a positional award preseason watchlist, with sophomore wing Davis Fogle being one of the 20 candidates for the Julius Erving Award. That honor is given to the top small forward in the sport.
One would expect sophomore center Massamba Diop to be named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award preseason watchlist tomorrow, making it three Zags heading into the season with national attention around their name.
