We are nearly at the start of New Orleans Saints OTAs, but before that happens, the team has already started something they did a lot of last offseason. When HC Kellen Moore took over, it was clear that team bonding days and events were important to him and his staff. It made sense to have these days because of how new everything was, and even if the Saints missed out on some valuable practice time, the team bonding worked.
Even when this team was at its lowest points, the locker-room morale stayed
high, and that was a major factor during the Saints’ four-game win streak. So, it would make sense for the Saints to continue having those team bonding days, and that’s what they are doing, per Nick Underhill.
Again, it’s not a surprise these team bonding days are happening, however I would expect there to be fewer this offseason. It was definitely a great thing to do last season, but this season focusing on the scheme, creating on-field chemistry and practice tackling may allow the Saints to start the season off faster.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how Coach Moore and his staff strike a balance between practice and team-bonding activities.
