Indiana men’s basketball (15-8, 6-6 Big Ten) is set to take on Wisconsin (16-6, 8-3 Big Ten) in an early afternoon matchup at home as it looks to strengthen its NCAA Tournament resume.
The Hoosiers’ last
outing was an 81-75 loss to USC on the road which, ironically, beat Wisconsin at the Kohl Center not too long ago. The Trojans’ length and ability to draw fouls proved too much for an Indiana team with a perimeter-oriented offense and a fouling habit on defense.
The Badgers’ last outing was a 92-82 home win over Ohio State. This is a Wisconsin team that’s rounded into form a bit more lately aside from the aforementioned head scratching loss to USC. That’s the Badgers’ lone loss in their previous eight games, which include wins over UCLA and Michigan. This is the only team to have handed Michigan a loss, so that’s something.
Indiana has to capitalize on its remaining opportunities at home if it wants to avoid yet another nervous Selection Sunday.
