“Walking Trouble” is disappointed.
No. 9-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Ante Delija makes his second Octagon walk this weekend (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) against No. 6-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta
in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 110, which takes place inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Delija made headlines recently — not for his upcoming fight, but because his teammate and current UFC Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall publicly stated that he would never fight Delija, even saying he’d vacate the belt if necessary — UFC CEO Dana White hates the idea (details here).
However, the Croatian contender appreciated the loyalty.
“He’s a really, really dear friend of mine, and I do believe with that statement, he really showed his character. I would also never fight against him,” Delija told MMAMania.com during UFC Vegas 110 media day.
Of course, Aspinall retained his title last weekend in the main event of UFC 321 via a “No Contest” after Ciryl Gane eye-gouged him so badly he couldn’t continue, and Delija gave his opinion on the fiasco.
“I really don’t understand. I’ve had 33 fights, and I’ve never poked someone in the eye,” Delja said. “I do believe that punishment for that should be severe…I think [Aspinall] did a great job with not continuing, and if more fighters do the same thing, I think we can prevent the same thing from happening again…More fighters should do the same thing, and more fighters should be punished for behaving that way, and I do believe we’ll stop with that whatsoever.”
Unfortunately, there’s still no real solution for eye pokes in MMA, and odds are we’ll see at least one during UFC Vegas 110.
