After finishing the preseason with a victory over Heidenheim, Bayern Munich is preparing a ceremony for star striker Harry Kane, as he is set to receive another major honor for his outstanding performances. Kane will be awarded the European Golden Shoe this Wednesday, in a ceremony broadcast internationally (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia). Kane finished last season with 36 Bundesliga goals to his name, making him the most prolific scorer of the 2025/26 campaign:

Bayern are preparing a big ceremony at the club’s museum, which will be broadcast internationally, meaning all 100 journalists eligible to vote for the Ballon d’Or can watch it. Bayern want to use the occasion to show Kane just how highly he is valued and appreciated by the club. This is also a key factor in the ongoing contract negotiations.
Sport Bild emphasizes the importance the event carries for both the club and Kane himself. On one hand, Bayern wants to show Kane how much the club values him, hoping that will influence the ongoing negotiations for a contract extension that would keep the striker in Bavaria beyond 2027. Moreover, the broadcast will serve as a showcase to the 100 journalists whose votes will determine the Ballon d’Or winner, giving Bayern the opportunity to highlight Kane’s achievements as he continues to push for the coveted prize:
Kane winning the Ballon d’Or would have enormous importance for FC Bayern. It would also send a signal to other stars such as Michael Olise that winning the biggest individual awards is possible in Munich. A Ballon d’Or for Kane would demonstrate that a Bayern player does not have to move to Real Madrid or to the Premier League to be recognised as a global superstar.
There is also another important incentive for Bayern to push for Kane’s potential Ballon d’Or win: the club would like to show other stars — such as Michael Olise — that they can win individual awards in Bayern, without having to move to Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, or Premier League clubs.
