What is the story about?
Last year there were 12 starting pitchers selected to the MLB All-Star Game rosters. Guess who are number 10 and 11 by WAR right now? Mike Soroka is still 10th in WAR with one less start than Bryce Elder. Of course, WAR isn’t going to completely determine the selections, but they have had pretty similar seasons. They’re probably both right there on the bubble. Bryce Elder has a 2.63/3.34/3.84 line right now (or a 64/83/94). Mike Soroka has a 3.49/4.08/3.46 line (or a 85/75/74) line.
It’s pretty crazy
that we can even consider this. Soroka is having a fantastic year in Arizona. And we all what strides that Bryce has taken this year. So could Mike Soroka keep Bryce Elder out of the All-Star Game? Why don’t they meet up in Philadelphia then?
