It’s been a rough week for Green Bay Packers fans.
They fell to the Carolina Panthers in what can only be described as a trap game — an unfortunate specialty of head coach Matt LaFleur at this point. Then
came the news that tight end Tucker Kraft—currently leading the team in receiving, YAC, and receiving touchdowns—was lost for the season due to a torn ACL.
Overall, it’s hard to remember a two-week stretch where sky high vibes plummeted so forcefully. Despite all that, there is room for optimism.
I mean, you could be a Vikings fan forced to root for a passer with two personalities (neither of whom are good quarterbacks, by the way).
Additionally, the Packers are still clinging to a division lead over the Detroit Lions, and do have star power. On balance, Jordan Love has been impressive. Christian Watson’s return was felt immediately, and the return of Jayden Reed should also provide a boost. While there are thin areas on the defense, the Packers still rank fairly high there, as well.
For these reasons and more, some outlets (like SI) still view the Packers as contenders in a muddy NFL picture. Can they weather the storm, find an offensive rhythm and regain their footing in time to make a run? Let us know how you’re feeling in the comments below.
