Zach Cohen, an avid uniforms enthusiast on social media platform X, is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams plan to unveil their new logo and primary uniform changes on the morning of Thursday, April 16th.
Further, Cohen clarifies that the team’s new alternate uniforms will come later in the offseason. The primary uniform changes are expected to be “more corrective than new”, which could include adjusting the gradient colors that fans opposed from the initial rollout of the Los Angeles branding.
The logo is also expected to ditch the oft-maligned gradient in favor of a solid color. Advertisements have potentially jumped the gun and pointed towards a solid yellow logo, including this draft day ad from Bud Light. The slight adjustments and pattern of correction potentially hint towards the secretive nature of the release, as it’s not really good branding to admit mistakes.
Cohen’s report is not as credible as news coming from the mouth of Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport, but still there are several reasons why he can be believed:
- New outlets have reported the team is targeting a mid-April release
- The Commanders are rolling out new uniforms on Wednesday
- The Ravens are also unveiling new uniforms on Thursday evening
- Cohen has a solid track record in his niche expertise of uniforms, logos, and design
