Nick Khan, president of WWE and TKO board member, said during a recent interview that Triple H is “the best creative in terms of all of wrestling.”
The executive made the comments during an appearance on The Varsity podcast that was released on Wednesday (September 9), during which he also used politics as an analogy to describe WWE programming.
Host John Ourand asked Khan about complaints from wrestling fans about not having access to WWE PLEs due to ESPN Unlimited not being available on all providers.
After stating ESPN Unlimited is now available on YouTube TV and Comcast, Khan spoke about angry messages posted on social media, noting “it’s sort of why Twitter, now X, was created.”
Khan has previously addressed how WWE reacts to such voices, saying in 2025 that “as much as we listen to our audience, we won’t listen to social media and respond. We think it’s a small percentage of voices who have a big microphone or megaphone in front of them. It’s a mistake to respond to your business based off of that.”
On The Varsity, he said much the same, though he acknowledged the company does make adjustments based on complaints when they’re based on merit.
“Those complaints, some of them we look at and say, ‘There is some truth to this. Let’s make a little adjustment to this or that,’” Khan said.
He then used politics as an example of how WWE approaches its decision-making process for programming, saying that business moves based on “far-right or far-left positions” typically fail.
“For companies that read it, believe it, and react to it, it never ever works. Even if you see some of these companies that took some of these far-right or far-left positions, that’s not what most people are looking for,” Khan said. “Most people are looking for left-center, right- center. They are looking for the same thing in the sports space. You can’t be reactive to that sort of thing.”
At this point, Khan put over Triple H.
“You have to rely on your team to know. We have the best creative in terms of all of wrestling in Triple H, real name Paul Levesque,” he said. “We have the best live events team in my opinion. We have the best merchandise consumer products team. They’re able to monetize it.”
Khan continued: “If you’ve seen the growth in TKO with UFC, WWE, On Location, IMG, PBR (Professional Bull Riders), each of these continue to grow every year. It’s not easy, but it’s not supposed to be easy. So you got to continue to develop and redevelop what you do. And you got to make sure that you have the right team in place to help you make the right decisions.”
What do you think of Khan’s assessment of Triple H? Is he the best creative in all of wrestling? Do you think that title belongs to AEW’s Tony Khan or someone else? Let us know in the comments.
