Barcelona’s all-conquering women’s team have finished their preparations for the 2025-26 season with a 2-1 victory over Club América to end their third consecutive preseason tour of Mexico in winning fashion.
Barça had already beaten the Liga MX All-Stars on penalties on Friday night, meaning Pere Romeu’s side have won all three of their preseason games having already defeated Badalona in the Copa Catalunya title game a week ago.
The Blaugrana had
a much shorter preseason than usual due to the participation of virtually the entire squad in the Women’s Euros over the summer, with almost half of the group going all the way to the Final with Spain.
This has been a difficult summer for the Catalans, who lost several first team players due to financial constraints and will have to rely heavily on their academy talents to get through the season and try to defend a domestic treble, while also looking to make a sixth consecutive Champions League final and win a fourth European crown.
Thankfully for Barça, their academy products looked pretty good during the tour of Mexico, with 17-year-old midfielder Clara Serrajordi especially impressive in the game against América.
Barça’s season officially begins on Sunday in Matchday 1 of the new Liga F season against newly-promoted Alhama at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
