The Dallas Mavericks (11-18) are in Lousiana Monday night to play the New Orleans Pelicans (7-22). Dallas is coming off a close loss to the Philadelphia 76ers where they lost the lead in the fourth quarter. New Orleans is riding a four-game hot streak where they’ve now won the majority of the games they’ve won this season.
Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at New Orleans Pelicans
- WHAT: Hello there, Pelicans
- WHERE: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, LA
- WHEN: 7:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: KFAA Channel 29, MavsTV streaming, NBA League Pass
The injury report is murky for the Dallas Mavericks once again. Going alphabetically, first there is Max Christie
who is listed as questionable as of this writing. Moussa Cisse is listed as doubtful, but the reason is “G-League” so I have no idea what this means. Exum is out for the year. Cooper Flagg is questionable due to a back bruise. Kyrie Irving is still out. Miles Kelly is expected to suit up (his injury designation is also “G-League” which cracks me up in comparison to Cisse). Lively is still out of course. Klay Thompson is probable with whatever illness has swept through this team. Note I am writing this about 3pm CST, so some of this could change.
The Pelicans, in comparison, are very healthy.
I don’t have much of a feel for this game. The Mavericks play hard, that’s their calling card this season, but I also think Flagg is one of the things which make that element of the Mavericks tick. If Flagg is out, that changes things. Of course, Derik Queen has been real fun, so that’s a reason for you to tune in as well. Should be a fun one, thanks for hanging out!
Consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
