It’s the weekend, and it’s a big one. Let’s lead into it with rumors.
Lead Rumor: Seth Rollins injury
When Seth Rollins came back to WWE and wrestled on the South American tour just one month ago, it was taken as a sign he’s ready to return to television, even if initial word had his absence pegged as a creative decision.
As it turns out, he’s actually been injured.
That’s what the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says, at least. According to Dave Meltzer, he’s been dealing with a “minor injury” and WWE has been giving him time to deal with it.
He could be used right now if they needed him, apparently, but Rollins doesn’t much fit into the current creative landscape, so it makes sense to give him time to get back to 100-percent.
For what it’s worth, Rollins revealed he is going to be in New Orleans for Money in the Bank but not on the show.
Other rumors floating around
- In addition to word of Seth Rollins being injured getting out, the man himself brought word on The Rich Eisen Show of a previously undisclosed back injury his wife, Becky Lynch, just recovered from. That’s apparently why she didn’t wrestle for six weeks.
- Max Caster is officially done with AEW, as folks have noticed he is no longer listed on the AEW roster page. He’s since been announced or TNA’s Bound for Glory show.
- Anthony Bowens, meanwhile, is still listed and his future remains uncertain.
- During his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy said TNA let the Hardy Boyz fully book the show that will air on Oct. 15 and they’ll be represented on the show, they’ll have a major gimmick match, and two or three “bangers.”
- Laynie Luck’s WWE ID exit was “seen as a surprise within WWE,” says Fightful Select.
