Credit to AEW’s president Tony Khan. I don’t know if I could deliver a minute-long speech about PAC today (Sept. 28), just a little more than 24 hours after he died in Illinois. But pro wrestling has always been show business, and the mantra there is that the show must go on.
So the Ring of Honor tapings in Jacksonville, Florida are taking place today. And just as PAC’s Death Riders teammate Marina Shafir did yesterday, when she wrestled a quick match and spoke with the crowd at Warrior Wrestling’s
show in Milwaukee while still clearly still emotional from finding out about his death:
TK did the same at the ROH tapings. Wearing a black armband with his friend and employee’s name on it, Khan spoke to the crowd through tears:
“Something more important than wrestling, somebody who epitomized the very best of wrestling and the very best of humanity — one of the best people I’ve ever known, Ben Satterley, who wrestled as PAC in AEW, and he wrestled as Neville for WWE, and he wrestled all over the world. And Ben was an absolutely fantastic wrestler and an absolutely fantastic human being, a great person to work with, and a great person to spend time with.
“Before we begin the wrestling today, and for these tapings, I’d like to have a ten-bell salute for PAC. Please, if we could have a moment of silence and a ten-bell salute. Thank you.“
