The Cubs shut out the Pirates 4-0.
The Blue Jays extended their lead in the AL East with a 2-1 victory over the Rays. Trey Yesavage struck out nine in his MLB debut, a first in Blue Jays history.
The Orioles topped the White Sox 4-1.
The Yankees were blanked 7-0 by the Twins to fall five back in the AL East race.
