The San Francisco 49ers have won and covered in both games so far. From a point-spread perspective, neither game has been particularly close.

called Brock Purdy’s Week 2 performance close to “flawless.”
The Cardinals allowed the Seahawks to rush for 123 yards after contact. So, we may not need to see an encore performance from Purdy. Drew Lock still finished fourth in total EPA among all quarterbacks in Week 2. He had a 51.9% passing success rate and completed 73.1% of his passes with three touchdowns.
Seattle let the Cardinals tie the game at seven, then went on to score 24 straight points. The final score didn’t reflect the product on the field. The stats were actually worse. The Seahawks outgained the Cardinals by +2.5 yards per play. They ran 20 more plays and held the ball for 13 minutes longer than the home team.
It helps to have Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had 155 receiving yards on 11 targets. JSN finished with three touchdowns.
Arizona should be able to put more points up against the Niners, but I’m not sure they have the defense to keep Purdy and company in check. This has the makings of an over game, with the home team once again winning by double digits.
Even in a different environment with an upgrade at quarterback, it’ll be interesting to look back on the common opponent between the 49ers and Seahawks a couple of weeks from now.
