It’s a wonderful cheeseburger bye week. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish just took down the USC Trojans in a ranked rivalry game, and they are currently ranked #12 in the country with two weeks to go until the first college football playoff rankings are released.
Speaking of which…
After Notre Dame started the season 0-2, the main debate centered around if the Irish could even make the playoff this year. Now at 5-2 and climbing the AP Poll (which isn’t the same as the CFP rankings), Irish fans are starting to believe in the possibility of hosting a playoff game inside Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish, of course, would have to finish the season ranked no lower than #8 in the CFP rankings to achieve such a feat.
So, while we’re drowning in AMERICAN beef with AMERICAN cheese on bread (maybe French), will Notre Dame do it? Will the Irish finish 10-2 and ranked high enough to host a CFP game?
