Joey Porter Jr.’s availability for the Steelers’ season opener against the Falcons on Sunday remains unknown with the star cornerback listed as questionable in Pittsburgh’s latest injury report.
Porter was listed as limited with a back injury in Friday’s practice. As he waits for an extension from the team, he’s the lone player with an injury designation this week for the black and gold.
The Falcons had a lengthier injury report, with cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. (Achilles) limited Friday and left tackle
Jake Matthews (rest) quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (oblique) and offensive tackle Cameron Williams (ankle) not participating.
Defensive end Za’Darius Smith is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game despite practicing in full Friday, with Tagovailoa, quarterback Michael Penix Jr., Bowman, and Williams all listed as out. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush is set to start against the Steelers on Sunday.
