Kazuchika Okada is taking a new tactic in his beef with Konosuke Takeshita. The Rainmaker is trying to win friends and influence partners. It starts with a nickname for Kyle Fletcher.
Last week, Don Callis forced Okada and Takeshita to tag team again. Okada served a side of attitude with the middle finger toward his partner and sabotaged Takeshita’s offense.
Takeshita
had the last laugh to outsmart Okada for the winning maneuver.
While Takeshita was busy in Japan this week, Okada found time to be present in AEW. That’s where he cozied up to Fletcher as the “team captains” for the Callis Family. Okada suggested the nickname Protokada for their dual leadership role as champions. Fletcher liked the sound of that shiny buzzword.
It’s funny how Okada keeps pushing Takeshita’s buttons in this feud of alphas. Clearly, this was just a way for Okada to garner favor with Fletcher and try to turn him on Takeshita. You know The Rainmaker is up to no good by allowing Fletcher take first billing on Protokada. There’s no way Okada’s ego would allow that without an ulterior motive.
Sticking on the topic of Fletcher, the TNT champion was in action against Ace Austin. This was a sneaky good match with Fletcher retaining his gold.
Are you down with Protokada? What odds do you give Okada of turning the Callis Family against Takeshita?
