The Green Bay Packers made a couple of adjustments to their roster this week, starting with who they decided to activate for their 48-man game-day active list. Let’s go position-by-position through the Packers’ snap counts from their Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers, noting where some things have changed with the team.
Quarterback
- Jordan Love: 67 snaps
- Tyrod Taylor: 0
Running Back
- Josh Jacobs: 47
- MarShawn Lloyd: 11
- Pierre Strong Jr.: 9
- Scratch: Kaleb Johnson
Last week, Josh Jacobs took 35 snaps to MarShawn Lloyd’s 24 and Pierre Strong Jr.‘s 8. This week, Jacobs took 70 percent of the offense’s snaps compared to just 52 percent a week ago,
when Lloyd was closer to Jacobs than Strong.
Moving forward, it appears that it will be the Jacobs show in the backfield, though none of the backs had a great night on the ground against Carolina. In total, the three backs combined for 1.9 yards per carry.
Receiver
- Matthew Golden: 58
- Savion Williams: 36
- Christian Watson: 33
- J. Michael Sturdivant: 28
- Bo Melton: 24
- Coleman Owen: 0
Christian Watson left this game in an ambulance when he broke a rib and was spitting up blood, leading to him getting tests at a local hospital before returning to Lambeau Field. That’s the explanation for why Watson, who had a 100-yard game, was out-snapped by Savion Williams, who previously filled the role of the team’s slot receiver.
Tight End
- Tucker Kraft: 59
- Mark Redman: 27
- Josh Whyle: 3
- Scratch: Jonnu Smith
In an interesting move, the Packers made Jonnu Smith a healthy scratch for the first time in 2026, allowing the team to call up practice squad edge defender Arron Mosby. Unfortunately for Green Bay, a team used to having four tight ends active on game day, it was terrible timing to be short at the position, as Josh Whyle left the game with a concussion early on, leaving the Packers with just Tucker Kraft and Mark Redman at the position for the vast majority of the game.
Whyle was the only player who dropped out of play and did not return against the Panthers.
Offensive Line
- Jordan Morgan: 67
- Aaron Banks: 67
- John Williams: 67
- Laken Tomlinson: 67
- Anthony Belton: 67
- Kevin Zeitler: 0
- Mekhi Becton: 0
- Jager Burton: 0
- Scratches: Donovan Jennings, Sean Rhyan and Travis Glover
Many expected the Packers to roll with Kevin Zeitler at right guard when it was announced that Travis Glover (along with center Sean Rhyan) was going to be scratched in this game due to injury. Instead, Green Bay pushed Laken Tomlinson over from the left side, allowing for Aaron Banks to come off the bench and make a start at left guard.
In his post-game press conference, head coach Matt LaFleur stated that due to the way that Tomlinson was playing, he didn’t believe it was right for the guard to be benched. So that’s your explanation for why Zeitler didn’t get looks today.
Already, Mekhi Becton, who was brought up from the practice squad this week, was a healthy nod over Donovan Jennings, who was a full-time guard for the Packers early on in the season. 13 different offensive linemen have now been active for Green Bay in 2026.
Defensive Line
- Karl Brooks: 47
- Devonte Wyatt: 38
- Chris McClellan: 26
- Anthony Campbell: 24
- Jordon Riley: 17
Edge Defender
- Lukas Van Ness: 44
- Brenton Cox Jr.: 37
- Barryn Sorrell: 31
- Dani Dennis-Sutton: 31
- Arron Mosby: 0
Off-Ball Linebacker
- Isaiah McDuffie: 70
- Ty’Ron Hopper: 68
- Nick Niemann: 1
- Kristian Welch: 0
- Scratch: Zaire Franklin
Zaire Franklin missed another game with his fractured shin, which kept Isaiah McDuffie at the Mike position and Ty’Ron Hopper at the Will position. Previously, McDuffie and Hopper had been splitting the Will position next to Franklin, following the loss of starting Will linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.
Cornerback
- Keisean Nixon: 69
- Brandon Cisse: 69
- Carrington Valentine: 1
- Kamal Hadden: 1
- Benjamin St-Juste: 0
Don’t make too much about Benjamin St-Juste being the only cornerback who didn’t get a rep in this game, because Carrington Valentine and Kamal Hadden’s snaps both came in as extra slot defenders in obvious passing situations. As far as we know, St-Juste is still the fourth outside cornerback in the pecking order, behind Keisean Nixon, Brandon Cisse and Valentine, but ahead of Hadden — who is more of a slot defender.
Safety
- Xavier McKinney: 70
- Evan Williams: 70
- Javon Bullard: 54
- Kitan Oladapo: 1
The Packers got to play a lot more nickel looks against the Panthers this week than they did last week against the Detroit Lions, who tried to play with an extra tight end as much as possible to keep Javon Bullard sidelined. In Week 8, Bullard played 77 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
