Sophomore outside hitter Evan Hendrix remained red hot on the volleyball court for the No. 11 ranked TCU Horned Frogs, who took down Kansas State in four sets on Friday evening to remain atop the Big 12
Conference standings. Hendrix earned her ninth straight double-double, posting a season-high 23 digs while recording a season-high 27 kills to lead the Horned Frogs in their 26-24, 25-23, 32-34, 25-17 win over the Wildcats. Hendrix became just the third TCU player since 2000 to finish a match with at least 20 kills and 20 digs.
Friday’s win was the 10th at home this season and the 18th straight at home for the Horned Frogs (16-3, 6-1 Big 12), who will resume conference play with a road match against Kansas on Wednesday. Outside hitter Becca Kelley added 13 kills for the TCU offense, while Sarah Sylvester provided a spark from the middle, recording 12 kills on a .440 hitting percentage. Alexis Roberson chipped in five kills on a .444 hitting rate for the Horned Frogs, who received 29 assists from setter Ella Foti and 25 assists from setter Rosemary Archer. Foti, who also had a 20-20 double-double, finished with 21 digs in the match. Libero Alice Volpe chipped in 14 digs on defense.
TCU posted 14 blocks and limited Kansas State to a .134 hitting rate in the victory. Lauren Murphy led the Horned Frog defense with five blocks, while Sylvester and Roberson combined for six blocks.
