According to head coach Shane Steichen on Monday, the Indianapolis Colts will be without starting defensive end Arden Key “for a while,” with a hamstring injury suffered during their Week 4 win in London against the Washington Commanders (via FOX59/CBS4’s Mike Chappell):
During 4 starts in his debut Colts campaign, the 30-year-old veteran starter has 8 tackles (3 solo), a forced fumble, 11 total QB pressures
and a half sack.
Per PFF, Key has a +61.5 overall grade on the 2026 season, including a +68.7 pass rushing grade.
In Key’s absence, the Colts will presumably turn to former 2025 2nd round pick Jaylahn Tuimoloau, with rookies George Gumbs Jr. and Caden Curry projected to play more prominent rotational edge roles off the bench.
The Colts also have undrafted rookie defensive end Mitchell Melton on their practice squad for extra edge depth.
