Netflix’s new documentary may offer a happy ending to the story of Hulk Hogan. The new trailer for Hulk Hogan: Real American gives a revealing look at both the man and the iconic character he embodied for over 40 years.
The film features what is being billed as Hogan’s final interview before his passing in 2025, alongside insights from his ex-wife Linda, longtime manager Jimmy Hart, and contemporaries including Kevin Nash.
One striking moment shows Bret Hart calling Hogan “a liar” immediately after Hogan says, “There are millions of kids that believed in me and what I stand for.”
While the trailer does not explicitly address his racist remarks captured on a sex tape that damaged his legacy, it teases a “sinister side” to the wrestling superhero the public may not have known.
“I was pretty hard-partying. I was drunk, maybe I was high. I don’t know what to tell you,” Hogan said. In another clip, Linda, who said she still loved him, said he “got lost along the trip.”
Scenes of Hogan getting booed in his final WWE appearance appear in the trailer, but its conclusion suggests the film may try to give Hogan’s story a happy ending.
Referring to himself, both by his real name and stage name, Hogan said, “Terry Bollea was just a human being. But when I went in that ring, brother, I was Hulk Hogan. The character helps people.”
Hulk Hogan: Real American comes to Netflix on April 22, just days after WWE honors Hogan and Andre the Giant and their WrestleMania III clash with the Immortal Moment Award at the 2026 Hall of Fame Ceremony.
