So far in 2025, sportsbooks have installed the Green Bay Packers as favorites in all three of their road games. None of those games have ended with the Packers covering the spread, and the team has gone
just 1-1-1 away from Lambeau Field so far this season.
That record will be put to the test again on Sunday night, when the Packers travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay is favored once again in this game, with the spread sitting at 3 points as of Friday afternoon. So how do APC’s contributors see this game shaping up?
In short, we are split. The Aaron Rodgers factor is certainly there in the back of some of our minds. Recent history is not on the Packers’ side, either; after all, the last time they won in the city of Pittsburgh, a rookie Terry Bradshaw played quarterback for most of the game against Bart Starr, who was playing his penultimate NFL season.
Perhaps today’s game will be another matchup of future Hall of Famers. Packers fans would certainly love for that to be the case, as it would mean that Jordan Love is headed for big things and would be following along a similar trajectory to his predecessor, who will be under center for the Steelers.
Meanwhile, the Packers might end up being underdogs in only one game all season. They are likely to play on Thanksgiving as dogs when they face the Detroit Lions on the road, but otherwise it’s tough to pick out another game on the schedule where they will clearly be getting points instead of giving them.
Here are our picks for all of the games in week 8!
