The Miami Dolphins may be 0-3, but a rough start to the season was expected. Miami is in a rebuild season, resetting the roster and the salary cap to build a consistent, average team, tear it down to the studs, and rebuild it, hoping to move into contention for the AFC’s Super Bowl berth in the next few years.
The Week 3 performance by the Dolphins, despite a season-ending ACL tear sustained by running back De’Von Achane, looked better than their play in Weeks 1 and 2. They tried to go toe-to-toe
with the Kansas City Chiefs and, while they still lost 24-10, they showed flashes of a team trying to come together and fight through adversity.
Going into Week 4, Miami will visit the Minnesota Vikings. Including Minnesota, all of Miami’s first four opponents have started the season with a perfect 3-0 record. Yes, the Dolphins are part of why the Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and Chiefs are all undefeated so far, but when only five teams have started the season 3-0, and Miami starts the year facing four of them, it is an oddity in the schedule.
According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Dolphins will likely see the Vikings improve to 4-0. The odds moved slightly toward the Dolphins on Saturday, but Minnesota is still a big favorite. Minnesota is favored by 9.5 points, with the total at 38.5.
Our weekly SB Nation Reacts fan confidence poll continues to show Miami fans trust the rebuild process.
Dolphins fan confidence
The Dolphins may be 0-3 and struggling to put together a complete game early in the season, but fans are clearly still on board with the team. A complete rebuild is going to have its painful moments, but getting through them, learning from mistakes, and getting better week to week is important, and the fans seem to see Miami doing exactly that.
Our preseason poll found 80 percent of fans thought Miami was headed in the right direction, and our Week 1 poll nearly matched that at 79 percent. After dropping to a season-low of 63 percent in Week 2, fan confidence has rebounded. Our poll is back to 79 percent of fans thinking Miami is headed in the right direction.
Miami Dolphins 2026 Season Fan Confidence Results:
Preseason – 80%
Week 1 – 79%
Week 2 – 63%
Week 3 – 65%
Week 4 – 79%
Around the NFL
Taking a look around the other NFL SB Nation Reacts polls this week, I noticed the Bolts from the Blue poll included a poll asking fans to place the blame for their 0-3 start. Offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins’ former head coach, received a majority of the responses.
The fan confidence for the Chargers is at just 11 percent of the responses saying the team is headed in the right direction.
Ouch.
