Let it never be said that The Miz won’t go to any lengths to entertain. A Grand Slam Champion and WrestleMania headliner, Miz has never been afraid to make himself the fool if it means sending the fans home happy. On Friday, he reminded everyone exactly why he is — and always has been — awesome.
Facing Joe Hendry on SmackDown in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight, Miz leaned fully into the comedy without winking at the audience or acting like he was above the joke. Instead, he stayed true to his character
— wrecking Christmas presents, then cowering in fear as Hendry and his holiday “minions” closed in: Otis, Akira Tozawa, and R-Truth dressed as the Easter Bunny.
Give Miz bonus points for showing up to the festivities in a full-length bright green leather robe, looking like The Grinch.
Amid the laughs, there was a moment viewers might not have noticed: Miz had suffered a cut on his upper left hamstring, yet never once let it disrupt the performance.
For all the praise rightfully heaped on John Cena this year, The Miz deserves to be mentioned in the same breath. Once banished from the locker room, forced to dress in broom closets and use public restrooms with fans, Miz endured it all. He became a two-time WWE Champion, headlined premium events, and remains a true ambassador — working tirelessly to represent the brand in the same way Cena has for years, while still giving back in the ring.
As 2025 gives way to 2026, Miz vs. Joe Hendry won’t win Match of the Year — or even Match of the Night. But for anyone who wants to see what true professionalism looks like, Friday’s street fight should be required viewing for every current and aspiring wrestler.
