A funny comment from Courtland Sutton surfaced this week when he called Bo Nix a mountain lion. Nix was asked about it and had to think a bit before coming to the conclusion that he liked the comparison.
“I think out here there are different animals that you can encounter,” Nix said. “I hear a lot of the times it’s mountain lions and bears that you don’t want to come across. I guess that is a good comparison and one that I will take. I definitely think the thing about mountain lions is usually that when
you notice them, it’s because they noticed you a long time ago. I’m just excited to get out there. I feel like I’m pacing and feel like I’ve been in this practice schedule for a long time. It’s exciting to go out there and play another team. It’s really exciting and I know that our guys are going to respond well. I feel like I have a great group with me that I’m going in here with. I can’t wait.”
A mountain lion is a pure hunter and as a quarterback sometimes you have to hunt and in NFL terms that would be putting a dagger in the team trying to make a comeback or mounting your own comeback to help the team win the game. Bo has done a lot of the latter and I hope to see some of the former this year.

We’re heading into a long weekend. Long in NFL terms as the Denver Broncos won’t play until Monday night. It’s weekends like this that make me glad I still do a bit of fantasy football. Gives me something to root for on Sunday when not rooting against the teams I hate on.
