Junior Kroupi is back on the agenda at Barcelona
amid doubts over the club’s ability to get a deal for Julian Alvarez over the line.Alvarez remains the club’s No. 1 target but Barca are under no illusions about how difficult it will be to prise the Argentina from Atletico this summer.
An update from Diario Sport states that Barcelona currently see Kroupi as the “most viable” alternative to Alvarez if they do miss out on the Argentina international.
However, the Catalans also think it will be a “risky”
move as Kroupi is still only 19 and lacks top level experience. Ideally, they’d rather wait to try and bring him in but that might not be possible as a new striker is a must this summer.
There’s also the fact that Bournemouth are asking for 100 million euros for Kroupi. The report suggests Kroupi’s valuation is more like 70m and that Barca could possibly include a player in any potential deal.
Kroupi would love the move but for now Barca’s focus remains on Alvarez. However, if Atletico refuse to negotiate, Barca may be forced to look elsewhere.
