Each practice day this season, the Kansas City Chiefs release an official injury report ahead of the next game. In Week 7, the Chiefs play the Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football.”
On Thursday, Kansas City placed left tackle Josh Simmons (Back) on the Reserve/Injured list after he didn’t practice on Wednesday. The Chiefs explained that Simmons plateaued in his rehabilitation and needed more time to return to 100%. For more information from the team’s Head Trainer Rick Burkholder, wecovered
his statement to local media here.

Chiefs
- Wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee) did not participate in practice for the second consecutive day. He tweaked his hamstring during the first quarter of the Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He did not have the “Knee” designation on the injury report until this week.
- Right tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion) did not participate in practice again after entering the concussion protocol during the Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore’s participation going forward is dependent on the contracted independent neurologist and completely out of the team and player’s hands.
- Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) was a limited participant in practice again. His time on the field is regularly managed due to a lingering knee issue.
- Tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) was a limited participant in practice again. Kelce briefly left in Week 6 against the Chargers and was seen multiple times having his ankle taped.
- Linebacker Cooper McDonald (knee) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day. McDonald was placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured list after suffering a knee injury in Week 1. Although he has been “designated to return,” McDonald must be officially added to the active roster by Saturday in order to play against Seattle. The Chiefs seemingly opened a roster spot for McDonald by waiving linebacker Cam Jones on Tuesday.
The following Chiefs players were full participants in practice:
- Wide receiver Cyrus Allen (knee)
- Safety Chamarri Conner (knee)
- Right guard Trey Smith (hip)
- Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee)
Seahawks
As we await the official injury report from Thursday’s practice in Seattle…
The team’s Senior Reporter John Boyle reported that running back Zach Charbonnet has been activated off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after full participation in Wednesday’s practice.
Charbonnet has not played since the Seahawks’ Divisional Round win over the San Francisco 49ers last season. The backfield partner of Kenneth Walker in 2025 racked up 874 yards and 12 touchdowns in the regular season last year.
- Pass rusher Demarcus Lawrence (non-injury related – rest), linebacker Connor O’Toole (hamstring), linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf), and linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
- Linebacker Tyrice Knight, former Missouri quarterback Drew Lock, wide receiver Rasheed Shaheed (hip) and guards Anthony Bradford (knee) and Beau Stephens (knee) were limited particpants in Wednesday’s practice.
