Throughout the year, we will be asking and answering questions about various Ohio State teams, the players, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. College football is fun, your favorite college football team winning is even more fun, but your favorite college football team beating the No. 1 team in the country while everyone
in the national media was desperately trying to convince everyone that they were finally “back” is the funnest!
While we are all still riding the high of the 14-7 victory over Texas, we wanted to check in with Buckeye Nation to see what you all thought was the most impressive part of the season-opening victory. There were clearly tons to be excited about from the offense, defense, and atmosphere on Saturday, but what stood out to you the most? Let us know in this week’s fan survey. If you don’t see the option that most impressed you, feel free to head to the bottom of the article and write it in.
Also, we want to know what you think the margin of victory will be in this Saturday’s game against Grambling State. We will be back on Saturday morning with the results, so check back with us this weekend to see if the rest of the OSU fandom agrees with you.
Question 1: What was the most impressive part of Ohio State’s 14-7 win over Texas?
I think we all can agree that while last Saturday’s win over the Longhorns wasn’t perfect, it was thrilling and satisfying on many unique levels. But we want to know what part of the game stood out to you the most. Matt Patricia’s NFL-style defense has garnered a lot of attention since Saturday, as has the Silver Bullet’s goal-line defense.
But on rewatch, more people are praising Julian Sayin’s performance, especially considering that his receivers dropped three well-thrown balls that would have made his day look even more impressive. Then there was the performance by the Horseshoe crowd. Lots to be impressed by in the season-opener, so let us know what your big takeaway was.
Question 2: What will the margin of victory be in Saturday’s game against Grambling State?
With all due respect to the Tigers, if this isn’t at least a 40-point victory, I will be a little disappointed following that Texas win. They are an FCS team that went 5–7 last season, but they are coming off a massive 55–7 victory over Langston… although Langston is an NAIA school. I just can’t imagine that even the great Eddie Robinson could keep this game close.
