Notre Dame Basketball finally got some good news from the transfer portal this offseason. Logan Duncomb, a 6’10” 230 pound center from the Winthrop Eagles has committed to Micah Shrewsberry and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Duncomb is an Ohio native and played high school ball at Moeller in Cincinnati.
Duncomb will be a graduate transfer at Notre Dame and will have just one year of eligibility remaining.
This is a massive addition for the Irish in multiple ways. First, this helps with the perception that the sky is falling in South Bend. Secondly, the Irish need a strong post presence that good points on the board and keep possessions alive with offensive rebounding.
Notre Dame still has a ton of work to do in the transfer portal to help mitigate the six losses this cycle. More than half of the scholarship players in the country entered the transfer portal, so there should be enough players to check off all of the boxes for Notre Dame.
They just need to grab a few more.
