Jules Kounde has been chatting about his Barcelona team-mates and has named midfield genius Pedri
as his absolute favorite.The Frenchman made it clear just how much he admires the Spain star and also spoke about how the defensive side of his game is often overlooked.
“Pedri is my favorite player. He’s absolutely brilliant. Honestly, he’s one of those players who operates on another level; even what he does in training and everything else,” he said during a live Kings League broadcast.
“It’s really
his innate technique; with his right foot and his left, he can pivot to the right or to the left, he has incredible vision of the game.
“There’s also a very underrated aspect, which I think isn’t emphasized enough: his defensive work. Pedri is a player who constantly runs and wins back the ball… Last year, he was the player who recovered the most balls in Europe.
“He covers about 12 km per game and, at the same time, has to regain possession, advance the team, distribute the ball and break through the opposing defensive lines. Pedri is absolutely brilliant.”
Pedri is currently away with the Spain squad for international friendlies against Serbia and Egypt, while Kounde is currently sidelined with injury but expected back soon.
