Sean Sharaf played the role of ultimate spoiler earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2026) at UFC 331 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif., stunning undefeated Olympic gold medalist winner Gable Steveson with a brutal knockout sequence just 12 seconds into the first round.
Entering Saturday night Steveson was a massive -2000 betting favorite. The previously undefeated heavyweight was considered one of the best prospects to ever come into UFC. With a world-class background
in wrestling and constant training under head coach Jon Jones, Steveson was supposed to be on the fast track to heavyweight title contention, as long as he kept knocking down the guys UFC put in his way.
The next name up was U.S. marine veteran Sean Sharaf, who pushed the envelope with Steveson during fight week and seemed more confident that he should have been considering his 0-2 UFC record before Saturday night. Against all odds, Sharaf needed just 12 seconds to land a career-changing left hand that blasted Steveson and sent him crashing to the canvas. Sharaf rushed in for more shots, but the win was already sealed.
