It’s game night, Bills Mafia! The Buffalo Bills’ first primetime game in front of a national audience is upon us, and there’s a lot at stake. While the score’s kept on the field and in official record books, it’s of perfunctory meaning only.
Tonight, what matters most has everything to do with a now-household Buffalo Rumblings phrase courtesy of the enigmatic Bruce Nolan that seeks answers to the questions about “where, when, and with whom” individual players compete. That, of course, isn’t ground-breaking
in conceptual nature. It’s just that where so many people are easily dismissive of preseason football, it actually holds a ton of importance. These games serve as dress rehearsal for players, and for some it’s the only live reps they’ll see in an entire season.
Though not the end-all-be-all in terms of roster decisions, there’s much to gain and more to lose on every play. Head coach Sean McDermott is no doubt looking for players to stack quality on quality, and for the team to exit with minimal or zero injuries.
